USDA Launches Procurement Forecast to Boost Competition

The tool supports access to opportunities for small businesses to contract with the department.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has introduced a new tool designed to assist industry and “small disadvantaged entities” in identifying potential opportunities to sell their products and services to the department. The Procurement Forecast provides a list of expected applications that various businesses – including small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned businesses, HUBZone businesses, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses – can participate in through contracts or subcontracting opportunities. The release of the procurement tool is expected to enhance competition.

“USDA values the contributions of small business entities and continues to champion initiatives to make contracting opportunities more accessible to eligible firms, as well as remove barriers faced by underserved individuals and communities,” said Office of Contracting and Procurement Director Donald Baker. “The release of this procurement tool will enhance competition in contracting for those interested in supplying goods and services to the Department.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Baker as he oversees the Office of Contracting and Procurement.
  • For USDA Secretary Vilsack as he seeks to improve opportunities for small business contracting and increase competition.
